We capitalized on Monty P's misfortune tonight getting heavy hitters Grant, Windom, Cottle, Leary to join us for a count of 21
Leary took the early lead and swapped it with Grant four or five times in the first three laps before Grant took the point for good. Leary kept within about five cars for the next ten laps or so when they got into heavy traffic and Grant just opened it up getting through better, Windom who may have been fastest on the track got by Leary on lap 16 just before the races only caution, Track was very fast and pretty smooth all night but they were on the top and the top never slowed down so Windom was never able to reel in the lightning quick Grant. It was JG's 10th victory on the 3/8ths. Leary hung on for third and Landon Simon who was quick all night but somehow got shuffled back on the opening lap brought home fourth. Dickie Gaines grabbed the fifth spot in the JSR 44. Abrams had problems in his hotlaps and heat and DNF started way back and gained 11 positions to get the BC Grasshopper Hard Charger $63 Mod feature was stellar, just unreal, kinda the way the last two or three races last year were with two and three car battles the whole race for the lead. After a three car first ten lap battle for the lead became two with Kramer leading and tenth starting Hamilton getting into second they played a cat and mouse game that ended on lap 18 with Hamilton throwing the slide for life on Kramer and Kramer running up his tail. Hamilton held on for the win. It was opposite the finish of last years finale. I left after the mod feature, Just too cold. Both sprint and mod feature were done at 9:45 and Im home before 11. For a cold opening night, a excellent crowd attended and good counts in all classes. Congrats to tonights winners and glad everyone is safe. Hope Giddens problems aren't terminal as he was the only sprint to scratch after hot laps.
