Anybody know where you can get a 12 tooth engine gear for an 07-08 R1? See a lot of 13's available but can't find a 12 thanks!

It is the same spline as a 04 and up Honda 600RR. South West Speed (AKA Kratter) sells them on EBay for 29.99 It will be a narrow 520 sprocket, but works fine.

Those 12 tooth sprockets are really hard on chains, I would look for a rear sprocket with a few more teeth on it. We started using really big rear sprockets (54-61 teeth) a long time ago. They allow us to use more (higher) gears in the transmission and also allow us to have much smaller gear ratio splits than them little 42-50 tooth sprockets. You will have to fabricate larger pizza pans.

Thanks guys for info! Just trying to figure out a gear set for a 1/6th mile track, we normally run 1/4-3/8 mile tracks.

Go to hyper's site and look at the ratios to run in first gear. That's a much better option than to change the mechanical gearing, where you'll have to worry about adjusting chain length, wheelbase, etc.

R6 sprockets are smaller spline and will not work.

Aren't the splines the same? They newer r6 might use a 520 chain as opposed to 530 used on the early R6 The 520 is just a little bit thinner but I think we have interchanged them in the past with our zx10R motor with little damage to chain. Thought Honda had the only different spline courser?

That's a good idea Jim I'll do that! I don't want to have to change chain length and all that mess.
