Way to go, Danica! What a perfectly timed shot in the arm for Indycar. :thumb:checkered:

If you would bother to recall it was because of losing a fuel gamble that Danica didn't become the first women to win the Indianapolis 500. See 2005. Get over it. Every race car driver/team will gamble with fuel from time to time. Sometimes they will lose. Sometimes they will win. Every one of you Danica haters complain about how much she whines. Yet every one of you outwhines her by a mile. Get over it and see this for what it is. A great and perfectly timed shot in the arm for Indycar racing. Just what the sport needs most right now. If you are truly a fan of the sport you will appreciate that.

Could the FIX be on???? Could this be racing's version of Baseball's little home run derby after the strike ran most of the fans off???:O:

And tell me honestly what she has done. By my records:
-3 pole positions, all achieved when driver weight was not included in the all up weight, a good 20 or more kilogram advantage over everyone else.
-One 2nd position achieved when everyone else crashed out.
-one of her 2 thirds achieved when Milka Duno crashed out half the field or thereabouts
-A 4th place in the Indy 500 when she should have received two drive-through penalties and received none.
-Top 5 results in only 9 races.

That is by no means stats deserving of the praise she gets.
We Indy Car fans, at this point, will take anything that will promote the sport. If this is a good thing, so be it. That being the case, I wish she would've done it back here in the states when somebody was watching, though.

While probably not a great business decision in the big scheme of things, at least her parents steered her into the Indy Cars and not the cabs. Also, Danica has, by far, out performed any other female who has participated in the sport. I just wish Sarah could get a ride with one of the "Big Three" teams to see how she really stacks up to Danica. I don't think Sarah has ever had the opportunities that Danica has. That being the case, I'm not yet convinced that Sarah isn't capable of winning one, as well.

Sorry you're still having such a difficult time dealing with the passing of champcar.

I hate to admit it, cuz I can't stand her or anything about her, ( I did like some of the swimsuit shots though:wink.),
but she won an IRL race and a win is a win. My favorite driver has won on a couple of occasions with some kind of fuel strategy and I called that a win also. So congrats go out to Danica. Job well done. :applaud:

If it was "fixed" I think the IRL wouldn't have waited so long to "fix" it!

Great post, Dwight!

Danica bashing aside, this is a another shot in the arm for the IRL.

First, Unification
Second, Graham Rahal, son of a former 500 champ and American, winning at SP.
Thrid, Direct TV and Coke signing on as sponsors
Fourth, DAnica winning the race.

These are the types of things that the IRL Needs to move forward.

Oh and a FYI, Sarah Fisher has put together a team for Indy, KY and Chicago, according to NSSN.
