From Danville , west on 70 to 231 south to 57 south. Take 57 south to 58 east( Odon) you'll hit 69 before Odon.
Take 69 to 68 west.

69 is smooth and fast. I set my cruise at 75. Make sure you have gas when you get on 69, there are NO gas stations at the exits on 69. I went this way from Indy for the WOO show last month. There is also NO traffic.

Stay away from Bloomington and 45, that road has so many curves in it it's hard to get above 40 mph.

Once you get into Riley turn right onto state road 159 (convenience store on right). Go about 4 miles look for a sign that says "Fowler Park" and turn right onto East Harlan Drive. You will Dick Smith's race car garages on the left on Harlan Drive. Go about 4 miles and you will run into US41 just north of Farmersburg. This saves about 15-20 minutes.

My goodness Push Truck you're trying to get the man lost. lol That's a great way to go on a Sunday drive but not when you're trying to get to the races. Convenience store on the right is not so convenient anymore, it's closed. Don Smith's place is nice, but the gates are always closed. Chad if you break down in Sullivan Co. call me lol I'd stick with the 70/41 route.

Been that way so many times it seems really easy to me. Ha ha Hadn't been that way lately since I've been using the 231/67 the last year or so because of the traffic on I-70...its crazy.

I use that so called shortcut when I'm northbound, but usually not when I'm coming south. How much time you save all depends on the time of day and traffic density. You might save ten minutes at best, and it is sometimes quicker just to go right on through Terre Haute.

Especially on a Saturday afternoon. There's just not that much traffic on the South end of town on 41, on the weekends, to slow you down that much.

If you just need to bypass the South end of the city, after you get off I-70 and start heading South, turn left (East) at the first intersection, Davis Avenue (Speedway Gas Station). Go to the second stop light (Canal Road) and turn right. That street eventually turns into McDaniel Road, which takes you all the way (probably 2 miles) to the 641 Bypass, which merges into 41 just South of Ivy Tech.

The 641 Bypass is the road that, when complete, will connect I-70 to US 41, from East of Terre Haute (Hwy 46 exit) to South of town, where it currently merges into 41.
