I know it's fenders but I alway have an interest in drivers that have raced more than a half century and a NASCAR privateer to boot. I read several articles about him, mostly in the '60s and '70s and always thought he was interesting. I always thought Hylton actually won a NASCAR Cup championship but I guess I was wrong. He came close though.

Now he said he is stepping aside to make way for a younger driver to drive his car. Since he is 78 years young he has a market that is VERY open. Is he in the market for WesMac, Devin Gilpin or Coleman Gulick or does 'Hurryin' Hank Lower or Johnny Johnson figure as a 'younger' driver. Has Tom Bigelow officially retired. Maybe he would be interested.

James Hylton finished second to Richard Petty in 1966 in the NASCAR Grand National (now Sprint Cup) points. A long career indeed!

Like the saying goes - There are old racers and there are bold racers, bot there are no old, bold racers.

Is that true in this case?

James has never been known as a hard charger, rather as a guy who has made his living in the sport he loves by being conservative and persistant. He works out of a VERY modest shop and believe it or not his EX-wife is his business manager. He's a good guy.

You laugh because I'm different. I laugh because you're all the same. Copied from the back of the #16 supermodified.
