On STL Racing forum, Tri City and Belle Clair both cancelled early this AM due to the flooding rain headed their way

It has been raining at Pontoon Beach for the last 3 hours. Looking at the radar, I don't think it is going to stop and clear up for quite some time. A good call rather than making drivers, owners, crews and fans waste time and money driving to find out it is cancelled.

If what they are predicting comes true, it probably will be.

REALLY Canelled TOO early?? All one had to do was look at the weather radar images earlier in the week !!!

You would have been safe to cancel last Monday. I know a lot of teams were getting ready to go, but they also knew the chance was slim to none that it would actually go.....

Terre Haute cancelled a CRA Show in the early nineties when the sun was shining because they said it was raining in St. Louis lol. Ironically the rain finally got to IRP that night for the Night Before the 500 Midget race and after it, it was colder than all get out! We had to buy Winter coats from the Hoosier trailer because it was in the 80s and cooled off to the 40s!.

Tri-City's website made it sound like at least one of the Gold Crown nights might turn into a USAC sprint and midget special... sweet.
