I will preface this post by saying that I enjoy all types of racing including both traditional sprints and winged sprints. Here are my five reason that I prefer traditional sprints on dirt.
1)I enjoy seeing the driver in the equation. Traditional sprint cars require more driving

than winged. Nothing more enjoyable than seeing a sprint driver drive it hard down the straight away and then throw it into the corner, cutting rooster tails. Sitting in the grandstands watching the driver work his magic. Priceless!
2)Traditional sprint races involve more of an invert than most winged sprint car races (Knoxville Nationals excluded). I want to see the big dogs work for the opportunity to advance to the feature and then do it all over again. More follow the leader in winged racing.
3)Living in Indiana we only have three winged dirt sprint car races this year I believe. WOO at Lawrenceburg, Kokomo and Tri State. We have more than that on an average Saturday night in state for traditional sprinters.
4)Ticket prices are still very economical for the traditional sprint car races. Some of the winged shows are higher priced and for many fans not an option to attend.
5)It is almost any spring, summer or fall Friday/Saturday night in Indiana and I have a decision to make. Which track do I want to attend to see traditional sprint cars race. So many times, not a very easy choice.

Most of the time though, always an enjoyable experience.
Here is hoping that everyone can experience the fun and excitement of open wheel racing. May 2012 be the best season ever and you get the most of your entertainment dollar. Hope to see you at the races.
