April 1, 2011 - Indianapolis, IN - USAC has announced three new racing divisions that will kick off at the beginning of the 2012 season.
.125 midgets - offshoot of the popular .25 midgets series. They will be
.25 midgets cut in half and will be raced on a figure 4 track. These cars will be half the price of the regular .25 midgets.
Aluminum Crown Series - For the budget-minded racer that cannot afford the silver in a Silver crown car, this car will be fabricated from recycled aluminum. Sponsors for the series include Alcoa, Pepsi, Coke and Renoylds Wrap.
410 CI helicopter racing - all the fun of 410 non-wing sprint cars but without the cost of those expensive Hoosier Tires. It will be better than airplane racing as helicopters are run WITHOUT WINGS. HANS device and 5 point belts are recommended but not mandatory.
so people have finally realized that hoosier is the problem with the cost of racing, maybe if you brought goodyear or american racer on board to supply tires, everyone would be money ahead
