Can someone help me out with hotels close to the Gold Crown.....Thanks

Thanks Vukie (GO BLACKHAWKS) and Coco. In the other post there's four hotels in Pontoon Beach. So I take it thats the place to stay....

I have stayed at a lot of motels in the area over the last 25-30 years; business, racing and an excellent high school holiday basketball tournament. Now the only one I stay in is the Motel 6 in Caseyville (618/397-8867). Several reasons: best price (I'm retired and paying my own way now); always helpful, friendly people; at the intersection of Interstate 64 and IL Route 157; excellent barbecue just down the road (17th Street Bar & Grill, the only 3-time overall winner of the Memphis World Championship). Also, a couple I used to stay in have been torn down to build a mall. There are a lot of malls and other stores in the area if you need to get anything.

It is about a 15-20 minute drive from the track, but easy to get to by going up I-255 to I-270 to IL Route 3. I'm used to it now but you might not want to do this.

Bring your surf board.

not much of a "beach" in Pontoon, but plenty of nice rooms in Collinsville, IL....about 10-15 minutes from the track just off I-255...
All kinds of chain eatin' places nearby also...

Ok here is the deal. I live in Indiana I would miss any show in Indiana save for about three to go to Tri-City. The Gold Crown is 1 awesome show. The inaugural Gold Crown had over 50 midgets show up. If you have never been to Granite you will will not be disapointed by any thing that happens there! Good food, track prep, racing & people. The only thing that stinks about the Gold Crown is it means that the 2010 racing season will be coming to an end for me and that will SUCK!! Besides that I wouldnt miss it for anything!!
