Haven't been there for 14 years, but then it was great. We stopped on the way home from a family vacation across to Yellowstone and back through Nebraska and Iowa. The women rolled thier eyes when we said we wanted to go off the highway to go to Knoxville. They went to the park (my daughter was 4 at the time) whle my dad and I went to the museum. We had a great time. My highlight was the Jet Engineering roadster sprinter.

Make sure to stop by the little bar across the street from the track, the McDonald's at the other end of town also had a lot of history hanging on the walls. It has been a few years since I have been there so things may have changed, Josh goes out there a lot and still has a good time with the different racing things to see. Be safe and have fun.

I went once and really enjoyed it. The second time I went, I took the time to see everything and enjoyed it even more. The only thing I would say is plan on spending a lot of time to enjoy the history of this sport.

Be nice to people on the way up. You might need them on the way down. Jimmy Durante

The cars are really close together, so you won't need a telephoto lens if you take pictures, and you will want to take lots of pictures. I totally agree that you need to plan on spending time there. I have been several times in the past few years and still can't get out in an hour. Be sure to go up to the second floor also. Much less crowded but some very interesting pictures and paintings. The gift shop has many, many goodies, also.

And to add - California's Johnny Anderson needs to be in the Sprint Car Hall of Fame - maybe this year!
