Nothing is certain as Staab is supposed to meet with the promoters within the week. He did not even mention whether it would be for sprints or midgets. I hope that these shows do come to pass. I have been to both tracks and either sprints or midgets would be good racing there. Also, if you are tired of being ripped off in Central Florida during Speedweeks it would be a good alternative. Both tracks are just south of I-10. Mobile is about 15 minutes west of I-65's junction with I-10 and Five Flags is maybe an hour or so east of I-65. Both are listed as 1/2 mile although Five Flags is a short half. It would make for a great early season trip.
I missed the show. Did D.O. happen to ask Mr. Staab about the Miller rumor that Mopar is taking over USAC?

And there isn't even a purse that I can win to even try to recoup any of my costs when I get to the track.

It's a sliding scale, depending on how much $$$ you spend and how much $$$ you have. If you can't afford it, then do what I do - stay home. I hate it, but I do what I got to do.
Or we could get a few of us together to drive down and split the costs. Gas for my PT Cruiser - $230, Four days food - $120 each, Room w/ two beds and a cot - $50, admissions - $40 to $50, Misc. - $50 each. Total - $290 each. Doable!

Now that's original - not. It's no secret that I like pavement. Why do people have to point out to other people that they are wrong because of what they like?

So I'm assuming you'll stay home?:emote20:
