With the declining car counts at USAC shows, some friends and I discussed the North Vernon race being held sprintweek. The opinion seems to be that this race may have the largest car count of all. Any one have any thoughts on this ?

I think you could be exactly right. Could be a race where some of the less funded teams show up to take a shot at some good money and the Big Dogs runnin for the Sprint Week title will skip to save on the equipment. Either way I hope it is a great show.

Is North Vernon part of Speedweek or did North Vernon add this race during Sprintweek? Seems like extra travel to go from Kokomo to North Vernon and then back to Terre Haute and then to Brownstown. Also do not see the North Vernon race on USAC schedule.

Its not a USAC race just north vernon being smart with their schedule to try and attract some good drivers with a decent purse during sprintweek, i personally think its a great idea. North vernon is a great track to see sprint cars on and if i remember correctly jesse hockett was the last person to win a sprint car race held at north vernon
I take that back brady short won the last sprint car race at north vernon, hockett won the only other sprint race of the season; the no way out 40

What have they done with the fence issue that caused a cancellation earlier this year? I haven't been there lately and haven't heard anything on here about improvements.

Last year, on the same night, they ran a make up Midget Week event at N. Vernon and had a pretty good crowd from what I recall.
