I was just curious why the confused smiley. They had the meeting at Waynesfield last Sunday and I was told that a vote was taken and the majority voted to go this route. As far as the rules that they plan to implement to keep the cars competitive, I would have to assume that weight is what is planned, but I'm just the announcer so I don't know for sure. I will post here and let everyone know when our rules get finalized and I get them posted to the website. I sincerely hope this works out. I know there were a couple of our regular 600 guys who were already moving up to 1000s next year, so this will allow them to continue to run at WRP, and hopefully with the right rule package in place, the 600s will be encouraged to keep coming to WRP knowing that they aren't being shut out.

I have no clue on whether the AMSA will be involved in any events at WRP next year at this time. The best I can say is keep an eye on our website, and/or facebook page.

As far as midgets go, I would LOVE to see them at the 'field. But from this loudmouth's viewpoint, getting the support behind them needed to make them a successful class in an open comp format would be a tough deal for any track with the economy in the shape it's in right now. Perhaps if enough midget owners would contact the promoter showing interest in coming to WRP in 2010, maybe he'd be persuaded to run a couple shows.

Just my 2 cents.

All you have to do is pull the wings off the 1000's and you will probably have a better show than midgets.

Agreed.

I figure the 600's at Waynesfield can be pretty competitive, it takes a strong engine to run well there in a 600. And Horstman almost beat me there last year in the 1000/600 shootout thing.

Gerry:

As you know, the 'open competition' non wing sprint cars, have grown to be WRP's main class.

Early in the life of WRP's 'big track', most of the sprint cars were older/smaller engine/low buck cars. Even this past season, Cub was fairly competitive with the crate engine in his car, and many guys with 360s, and even some 305s made the feature.

It would be awesome to see the Dean give the midgets a shot to do the same thing.

Any idea what the engine rule will be? Will this be a stock 1000 class?

Jeremy, its about 25 miles south of Lima, about 2 hours from downtown Cincy. In the middle of a cornfield (literally) but a pretty neat track with nice facilities.

Following a vote during the meeting with Mini-Sprint teams on November 1st, promoter Dean Miracle has announced that Mini-Sprints will return to Waynesfield Raceway Park in 2010, but with more power.
Starting in 2010, Mini-Sprints competing at Waynesfield Raceway Park will be permitted to run engines UP TO 1000cc. Some adjustments to our rules will be made to allow the teams with 600cc engines to continue to compete. Full rules and details will be released in the next 2-3 weeks.
By allowing the 1000cc cars, WRP opens the gates to many teams who are looking for another venue to race, while also not shutting the door on the 600cc teams. The Mini-Sprints put on great shows all season long at the 1/3 mile clay oval, and this should enhance the already exciting competition.
Right now we are finalizing plans for the 2010 season for all classes, as well as preparing for our banquet on November 21st. I will be posting the rules on our website as soon as I get them. If you have any specific questions, use the contact info on our website, and someone will answer you as soon as possible.

Thanks
Gerry
