Has anybody noticed that the Chili Bowl will be held on January 19, 2010 according to the entry form? My calendar says that a Tuesday. The schedule on the website says the race is on the 17th!
Somebody (like Don Moore) musta spiked the chili!!!

Don, I agree that midget racing, the Chili bowl in particular, is a money losing proposition for the participants. However, it is the most fun I have all year. I get to spend a week with all my racing buddies and make some new ones; meet the modern day heros of our sport; race multiple times; and if I have any on-track success know that I have accomplished something worthwhile because there are plenty who didn't.
Not many local yokels can say they have raced wheel to wheel with the likes of Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and any number of todays professionals; had Parnelli Jones and Johnny Rutherford come in their pit area to talk; had lunch at the famous Zink Ranch and met Jack; escorted Neil Bonnet and the US President of CITGO to their seats and helped them understand the racing format (admittedly a few years ago). On top of it all I have met and become acquainted with the famous SUPERDUKE, not to forget regular visits from you! To me the Chili Bowl epitomizes all the reasons I race midgets and none of it has anything to do with the amount of money I can win. There may be a day when the cost vs fun ratio gets out of balance for me but until then I look forward to the Chili Bowl all year long.

some people think going to vegas and blowing $ 5000 or more!!!!!!!! Is a lot of fun!!!!!!!!! So whats the big deal! I know you can't make any money with a race car unless you sell it!!!!!!!!!!!

No doubt that the place is like a national convention of midgets. I enjoy every minute of it.... as a spectator. I've been there and done most of the things you've listed. It's a very relaxing time for me watching everybody else spend, spend, spend. See you there!! hahahahahahahahahahaha

Naw... you guys have the early start hahahahahahahahahahaha Nothing like going broke givin' these guys ur life savings 3 months in advance. Have you people ever figured out why these teams are dead broke with no money left to race outdoors? Yeah, no money to race and you fans that support regular REAL outdoor season midget racing are the losers with the car counts. If you have a program from last year's Dilly Ball, count up the number of teams that you never see anywhere outdoors. Ur gonna be countin' for a long time.

What makes it the DRAW? I know for certain it can't be the money. They probably spend more on the trip, entry, hotels, fuel, wear than they could ever win there. It's gotta be the Driller and racing against celebs.

For cryin out loud, Its possible to race 14 times and never make the Sat A main.

300 midgets and 240 of them are PARKED most of the year. The only thing healty with Midget racing is. THE CHILI BOWL.
