Does anyone remember one of the best Sliver Crown pavement shows in the history of USAC at Gateway International Speedway, Madison,IL sometime in the late 1990's. Ryan Newman and Kenny Irwin, in a blue duce, put on a excellent show. Many clean passes for the lead without touching each other.
im not sure if this is the race you are talking about but this one is newman 1st, irwin 2nd. awesome stuff. also, take a look at all the other videos this guy posted. theres about 100 of the thursday night thunder races.
The interview section is funny because of the guys you see in the background and the amount of Mullets that seemed to dominate the USAC midget ranks at the time.
Scroll through the other videos and there is a video of the race from that night.
This isnt the same race but I remember a SC race at IRP where Irwin was almost 1/2 lap ahead at the white flag and decided to cruise behind a lapper and Mike Bliss caught him just at the line

Of all of the drivers mentioned during the race; Tracy Hines is the only one that still races full time and none of the car owners shown(cars themselves) still field cars.

Thank you Vukie for pointing out it had been 9 years since we lost Kenny. I remember where I was when I found out. Iwas at Toledo Speedway and a young Spridge told me what had happened.
