Paul Goldsmith is 81 today! He had quite a career as a motorcycle champion, Indy car and stock car driver. He was involved in the 1958 Indy 500 crash that killed Pat O'Connor. As I remember reading, he was behind the incident and spun to avoid it. Jerry Unser ran over Paul's car, leaving an imprint of his tire on Paul's arm. I talked to a man at Bloomington a few years ago that has known Paul for many years and he said the tire imprint is still visible. Smokey Yunick claimed that Paul was the most naturally talented driver he had seen. I remember him from the glory days of USAC stock cars where he was always a top competitor.

Bump, Ron!!! :thumb
I am old enough to recall when Paul raced. Indy cars and stock cars too. How often does that happen any more?
