With so many different classes of midgets now, it would be nice if tracks posting open competition race dates for midgets if they would clarify which midgets they are presenting. Posting the payout would be beneficial also. For example: Kokomo Speedway has posted several midget dates but no clarification or payout. Are they presenting midgets with Montpelier rules, D2 midgets for example??

Yes they are Don.
I would assume they will pay the same as Montpelier too... Assume ![]() The USAC Midwest Thunder Midgets (D2) will also be part of most of those programs. Don't know off the top of my head their website, but the Midwest Thunder group have put the Kokomo races on the schedule!

Aren't d2 midgets allowed to run the national events all the same? Only difference being no d2 points or contingencies awarded?

I like the way its done in speedway. There is two rules, engine size and it has to be a speedwaybike. That's it as far as rules. Then run 2 or 3 different divisions 1,2,+3. One is a pro class, the other semi pro and you have a beginner class. Usually after guys get some experience they will want to move up and wont need to be moved up a division. Just incase after a set number of main event wins in the lower classes you get moved up.
The more I read all this midget confusion the more I know were involved in the best racing there is for equality, (not to mention the outright balls to the walls racing) 25% race vehicle / 75% rider output. At the end of the night you can be assured the best rider that night won the main, not the best setup guy. |

The Kokomo deal should be the same as Montpelier. As far as daughtery speedway I have not the slightest clue. Should be a good year on the midgets side.

At Montpelier, points and contingencies are awarded to d2 registered cars, as well as the normal show payouts and points. Kokomo isn't on the Usac Midwest Thunder Midget schedule. Unless something has changed?
