If you want to see probly the most badazz dirtcar ever to turn a lap google Gerald Chamberlain and check out his pinto bodied # 76.
Not only one of the prettiest cars ever but also fast, way fast. These cars were super light, some over 600ci they were almost as light and faster then a 410 car. Due to "progression" and "evolution" we now have a dirt modified that is a true turd. If you weren't there you wouldn't believe the racing. We used to stretch our legs and go to the toilets when the sprintcars ran.
Anyhow don't think all "evolution" is for the best. I'm all for change, theres just some things I believe should be left alone. Evolution is great for say winged cars or late models, but please leave me one thing to still love and think about always.
Anyhow check out the car you don't need chrome and paint to be pretty

Ironic that you who is so vocal about the appearance of modern sprints and midgets would like a pinto bodied modified. I'm old enough to remember when modified bodies went from coupes and coaches to gremlins and pintos. And just like today there was moaning and belly aching. Funny how history repeats itself.

You laugh because I'm different. I laugh because you're all the same. Copied from the back of the #16 supermodified.

I like the Gremlin better, the Falcon the best.

Of course I also like modern slab-sided Midgets.

Some of my earliest memories as a kid are guys like Gerald Chamberlain in the Don Rice 31 Super and Bobby Able in his blue and orange car at Hagerstown. I never got to see the old Pinto, Gremlin or Falcon bodies, but think they are some of the best look mods ever created. It one of the reasons I love the vintage stuff so much.
