Since July 16th Chase Jones and Trey Osborne have staked a claim on the UAW American Made Mel Kenyon Midget Series victory lane. Jones has nailed the top spot 3 times, twice at US 24 Speedway and his breakthrough win on pavement at the Indianapolis Speedrome. Osborne earned his first series victory at Anderson Speedway.

Point leader Dameron Taylor continues to top the standings on the strength of three wins and a string of second place finishes. Taylor’s margin over Jones is 147 points.

Jones, however, remains in a brutal battle with Osborne and the Huggler brothers, Ryan and Logan. The four drivers have been swapping the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place positions for several weeks. Heading into Saturday’s Speedrome race, Jones leads Osborn by 16 points. Logan Huggler rides 39 markers behind Osborne and leads his brother Ryan by a mere 2 points.

The 50-lap race distance on the semi-banked Speedrome oval presents the drivers with a different challenge. While only Taylor and Jones have won there in 2016, both Hugglers, Osborne and Ashlea Albertson have all led laps.

The spectator gates open at 4:30 with qualifying schedule for 6:05. Racing will begin at 7. The Super Stock division joins the UAW American Made Mel Kenyon Midget Series with a ½ hour figure 8 race. Tickets at $12, kids 6-11 $6 and kids 5 and younger are free.
