I'm leaving downtown Indy around 4:30 and heading straight up to Kokomo this evening, and I'm hoping for some travel help. At first I figured I would just take 31 straight up to 931, but with leaving during rush hour and the traffic limitations in areas of Kokomo, I'm not sure that will be the best route. Anybody have any suggestions?

Do not come in on 931, stoplights are not functioning and traffic a mess right now. Stay on 31 and get off on the North side, Touby Pike I believe and then come west.

Agreed, take bypass around to the north side.

Take the last exit going north on the bypass, Touby Pike and turn left. Turn right on the 1st road and follow it around across 931 and it will take you to Davis Rd just north of the track. That should avoid most of the mess.

I have a question too come to think of it, around 6 pm would I be better off going on the west side around Indy on 465 or east side.

421 to 29 ( Burlington) to 22 East on 22 into Kokomo go to the forth light Phylips turn North and go to Morgan turn East and go to the light turn North and you are here. 421 turns into 29 Trailer friendly and very few cops.

About 1:30 I tried to come up 421 and an officer was blocking all northbound traffic at Route 32. No idea whether it was temporary or was going to last longer. I took 32 over to 31 and had no problem. There was no traffic backup northbound at the Route 28 construction, but southbound probably had a 5 minute wait.
