BOSS Twin Cities / Lawrenceburg Doubleheader

The Rick's Trucks & Equipment BOSS Sprint Cars are set for another big doubleheader weekend. This will bring to a close a strenuous month of July that will have seen the tour run 7 events. So far, there has been 5 different winners in the first 5 events. Friday night, July 29th will mark the tour's first ever visit to Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, Indiana. This special Friday night event is being co-promoted by TE Promotions. The following night, a very emotional Jason Soudrette Memorial will be held at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Shawn Westerfeld of Guilford, Indiana just became the 3rd repeat winner of 2016 and he dominated Portsmouth Raceway Park this past Saturday night. He now sits comfortably in the drivers seat steering toward becoming the first ever repeat titlist. Justin Owen of Harrison, Ohio and Cooper Clouse of Ohio City, Ohio are on the hunt and looking to chase down that title as well. Clouse also is a repeat winner on the tour and appeared to be back to 100% Saturday night after a devastating crash early in the month.

Michael Fischesser of Cincinnati, Ohio and Chad Wilson of Toledo, Ohio are both quietly having great seasons and both are knocking on the door looking for their first ever tour wins! Aaron Middaugh of Polk, Ohio and Andy Feil of New Castle, Pennsylvania are also in a torrid battle for the 6th spot in the standings. Rounding out the top 10 are Steve Little of Waynesfield, Ohio, Stratton Briggs of Anna, Ohio and Cody Gardner of Monroe, Ohio.

For Friday night's event, gates will open at 4 pm but start times will be delayed to allow teams plenty of travel time. There are only 3 classes competing and no divisions will be time trialing. Drivers meeting will be at 7 pm with hot laps at 7:30 and racing at 8 pm. General admission will be $15 for ages 13 and up. Kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes will be $30. There will be NO transponder fees for this event. Fuel will be available at the track. No mufflers are required at TCRP.

On Saturday, Lawrenceburg pit gates are always open early. The pit area will be cleared at 3:45 and pit gates officially open at 4 pm. General admission gates open at 5 pm. Admission will be $15 for adults and ages 7-12 are just $7. Kids 6 and under are free. Pit passes will be $30. As always, Lawrenceburg promoter Dave Rudisell will be providing transponders free of charge! Fuel is available at the track and MUFFLERS ARE MANDATORY at the Burg! We will be checking all race cars prior to heat race action.

The official host hotel of the weekend is the Riverside Inn right next door to Lawrenceburg Speedway. Teams are invited to park race haulers inside the fairgrounds property which is patrolled by security. For teams camping, the restrooms with shower facilities will be unlocked on Friday night. To reserve a room, please phone 812-537-4441 and ask for the Lawrenceburg Speedway Racer's Rate.

Looking forward to this weekend. Hope many IN teams join in as BOSS is friendly to local teams, You can race with them and you can beat em. 360s and 305's have won at some events.

And most of all, No damn tire rule. letting teams decide what's best for them and what they can afford IMHO is no doubt why BOSS can take 25 cars to a track Portsmouth that hasn't run NW in 21 years and the teams are from four states

Also the Heats paying 40,30,20,10 and numerous contingencies help keep teams get to the next race. Free Hoosier for highest finisher on all four and free American Racer to highest finisher on all four of them, But you could run Goodyears if ya want or mix and match.

I hope to make both but Im positively goin to the Jason Soudrette of which I've missed the first two and that's unheard of for me.

Jason Soudrette was salt of the earth nice, A fabricator, Musician, Racer and Family man. Taken from us way to soon from his battle from Lukemia of which he beat but his immune system was destroyed in the process, which led to his passing.

BOSS at Twin Cities and Burg!
