The Midwest Lightning Midget Series is excited to announce our 2016 racing schedule. We do still have some open dates and could be adding a few more races to our schedule.

Rules are subject to be changed as needed. Since this is our first season we will have to make some changes. To start off with we have decided to go with the D2 rules with a few differences.



Rules
Lightning Sprints/TQs/Kenyon Midgets
Up to 1400cc engines allowed. All brands and years allowed
Can be gasoline or methanol fuel (no additives allowed)
Chain or shaft drive
Open tire rule
Minimum weight is 850 pounds
Automotive Engines
Allowed Engines
GM Ecotec 2.4L (LE5), or 2.2L (L61)
Honda 2.4 L (K24A1)
Chrysler World Engine 2.4L
Toyota 2.4L (2AZ-FE)
Ford/Mazda Duratec 2.3L (23 I-4/L3)
GM Quad 4 2.3L and 2.4L
Ford 2.0L Focus/Scream Pre-2004
2.4L engines and below not listed above needs to be approved to series officials prior to racing.
Weight 1100 pounds
Tires 10 inch rims 12 inch right rear
Fuel gasoline or methanol allowed (no additives allowed)
All rules are subject to being changed by series officials to allow competitive and safe racing.

so it is my understanding that you are back to d2 rules and not the run what you brung as it was a few weeks ago, is that correct?

Flora is an awsome place. But to fast for a budget midget class

At least the first few races over in Ohio we are sticking to the D2 format. Not ruling out adding more motors if they are a fit for the series. If you have a motor not listed and are interested in racing with us please send me a PM.
