I am needing to know who would race at the Sportsdrome? Looking at the last Saturday in June or July. Once again this is a lower budget grass roots series and we would allow various forms of cars to race with us. The purse would not be huge but it is our.chance to prove we have the drivers and cars to support more pavement racing.

great track. Was just resurfaced a few years ago. The guy that runs the place is one of the best promoters. If he tells you that he is going to do something, it happens. Midgets need to go back to this track! They also have a lot of open practices that are very reasonable in price.

Back in the late 40's race tracks were being built everywhere. Two sister tracks were built, one in Indy (the Speeddrome) and one in Jeffersonville Indiana (the Sporstdrome). They are carbon copies of one another. The owners of both tracks have also managed to maintain them in almost the same condition as they existed back in the day. Going through the front gate is like taking a step back in time and is really neat. The Sportsdrome is where I acquired my addiction to Methanol and Castor oil.

Both tracks were famous for Midget Racing and Hard Top or Super Modified racing (poor man's Sprint cars.) They were originally designed for midget racing and would still be a great place to race Midgets if a formula could be designed to handicap the cars. On pavement Horsepower and handling is predominant.
