Not open wheel, but the big guy has been dealt a bad hand recently. I always enjoyed him as a color commentator on the the old Nashville Network.

One of my favorite Buddy Baker lines of all time was when someone asked him to describe the perfect driver:
Size 12D shoe, size 4 hat. |

one of my favorite stories is when he flew out the back of the ambulance still strapped to the gurney...

And the one time, during the midst of NASCAR adjusting the aero packages on the cars for Daytona and Talladega in the late 90s, still never getting it right, someone asked Buddy how he thought he would do with today's cars:
"I don't know. I ain't ever gone that slow." |
