The Midwest TQ Racing League
presented by Jenmarco.com 2015 season resumes Saturday May 30th at the Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Ind.
Rick Robinson sits atop the MTQRL standings after a successful season opener that saw him win the Jackson Oil & Solvents Duel for Fuel, his Perfect North Slopes heat race, and finish second to feature winner Ronnie Combs.
Four drivers scored feature wins last season at Montpelier. 2013 MTQRL Champion Nick Speidel and Matt Arrington won twice with Combs and four-time MTQRL champion Tate Martz visiting victory lane once each.
Montpelier is billing the evening as “Family Night at the Races” offering $10 adult general admission, $1 hot dogs and an autograph session in the pits during intermission. Sharing the card with the MTQRL three-quarter midgets are the UMP modifieds, super streets, thunder cars and FWD compacts. Gates open at 3:00 pm, hot laps at 5:00 pm and racing begins at 6:30 pm with an 11:00 pm curfew. Montpelier runs a tight program and the MTQRL feature is usually run before dark.
In the event of rain or inclement weather, it is not always possible for the MTQRL to update its website, send out emails or post on Facebook so we are now using “RainedOut” as an event status text alert system. We feel this tool will help us provide the latest weather conditions quickly.
Competitors and fans can be immediately notified of race cancellations by signing up for text alerts through RainedOut.com. Anyone is able to sign up for the service by simply texting MTQRL to 84483 or visiting RainedOut.com. When signing up via the website you are also able to sign up for email alerts.
The service is free; however, standard text message rates apply in accordance with the text plan on your cell phone.
