The Scorekeeper
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, I know you don't know me that well but I can swear to you, I do take getting the RIGHT information very seriously.
I either have the rules, rule book or know them, have the racing radio channels scanning and tuned.
Many people know they can ask me for info and its right 95% of the time and they do.
Don't know why I'm like that, its just what I've always done to enjoy and enhance the racing for myself for all these many years.

I have helped others to understand rules and format to add to their own scorekeeping (yes there are others like me throughout the crowd).
Many think, that I miss a lot because I'm busy writing but I rarely look down during a race. I'm sure many people, outside of race fans and maybe some race fans, think I'm nuts. I don't really care, its that thing I like to do.
I can tell you I've met some pretty good people in racing and in the stands that enjoy having me around, if only to get info.

Isn't it true, that us circle track fans are observing the modern day cowboys, as they tame and control the horsepower in front of them around the arena in front of us?
How lucky are we? Especially to have such parity, that is so good for the sport.
We all have our favorites but whether they have won or not, at the end of the night, if I've seen good fair unbiased racing, I am a happy, satisfied customer.

Anyway, at the end of the evening, when all the lights are going dim, the fans have left the stands and the track & pits have gone silent, I can't help but feel truly blessed that we live in such a great country, as this.
That no matter what happened here at this track on this particular night, good bad or indifferent, if it were not for all the others before us and our military at home and abroad, truly, none of this, would we have been witness to.
It's our history that binds & ties us to each other.
That, to me, embodies the American Racing Community Spirit. I pray that it endures for many, many generations to enjoy, as I have.
