“DOUBLE POINTS” FOR DMA MIDGETS SEPTEMBER 20;

CHAMPAGNE BEATS THE RAIN AT BEAR RIDGE

Even with a healthy 139-point lead in the DMA Midget series, Adam Pierson’s drive to a title is not yet complete, with a rich “double points” race on tap at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. on September 20.

Pierson finished a disappointing 18th in last Saturday night’s race at the Vermont oval, a race won by Jeff Champagne of Westfield, Mass.

Champagne beat the rain Saturday, winning the 25-lap USAC DMA Midget feature. Champagne trailed Vince Lucca for 22 laps, then led the last three for the win. Seth Carlson came in second ahead of Lucca, Scott Viets and Ray Miller.
