Will any of the USAC teams and drivers be at Haubstadt Sat.night going for the $10,000.00 top prize. You would think some would since it's not that far to Salem for their race Sunday afternoon. I would love to see about 40 cars at Haubstadt.

This weekend is the Belleville Midget Nationals. So that eliminates all the guys that run for midget points.

We all know who ever runs sprint cars will be there goin for the 10Gs on saturday evening. I would expect 35 to 45 cars that would make for a great nite of racing.

The car count for this race has always been lower than one might expect. Lower 30's, usually. But, it has been and should be again this year, a top heavy field. Despite the lower car counts, this usually turns out to be one of the year's best races. I'm picking Hunter. He's running better than any non-wing driver on dirt, right now. And this is one of his two best tracks.

here are some notes from the last two years and the Hoosier Sprint Nationals notice the car counts.

Haubstadt, IN. (July 29th, 2006) Daron Clayton turned in an outstanding performance in what has been a brief 5 year sprint car driving career by winning the second annual MSCS Hoosier Sprint Nationals Saturday night at Tri-State Speedway. The 22 year old driver took $10,000 of Hoosier cash back to Sikeston, MO, after facing down 41 other competitors in one of dirt track racing’s biggest annual sprint car paydays.

2007 Hoosier Sprint Nationals at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN. The 50 lap event paying $10,000 to win and sanctioned by the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series drew 42 non-wing sprint car teams.

No doubt Hunter was awfully fast for the sprintweek show, but I bet Stanbrough will have fire in his eyes after getting on his lid that night. Stanbrough + fire-in-eyes = bad for rest of field.
