Once the oil gets hot....what oil pressure is everyone getting while on the gas? I know it drops really low when idling around under yellow but what is the lowest you would go while on the gas racing?

CW

We have data acquisition on the car and have blown up more motors than I care to mention. 55 PSI at 12000 seems to work ok. We put a light on the dash that comes on at 30 PSI. From looking at the data when we hit 40 PSI at 12000 RPM you got about 5 seconds before 30 then a couple seconds later 15 then and almost an instant 0 after that then lots of smoke and usually a hole in the front and a matching one in the back of #2 Cylinder. I don't know why it a Kawasaki thing and nobody understands.

PS Jim when he is racing he doesn't see the light but it sure shows up on the video.

My engine builder recommends that I don't run a pressure gauge, so I've never ran one. He said if you actually did see the pressure drop, you wouldn't be able to get to the switch quick enough anyway. And, at idle you have 0 pressure, and a gauge showing that would only serve to worry you...
