From the tracks Facebook Page.
Whitewater Valley Motor Speedway (A.K.A. Union County)

It's now official. The Buckeye Machine BOSS Sprints are headed to Whitewater Valley Motor Speedway in Liberty, Indiana on Friday, August 1st.
Special Thanks to Bill Wagner for hosting the series!! We should put between 30 and 40 of the nation's best non wingers in the pits that night.
This bad little bullring with sprint cars will be like 20 caged wild animals trying to rip the roof off the place. You don't want to miss this one.

I haven't been to Union County/Whitewater Valley Speedway since the ill fated night that USAC was there. Not trying to put a downer on the thread but have they done anything to fix the problems that caused the cancellation that night?

Some of the problems that I remember were extreme safety issues. The catch fence or lack thereof in 1 & 2 would certainly be a concern. The place could be a great track if a lot of the issues were solved. Anyone been a race there lately?

I hope that it is all well and good as I would love to see another Indiana show for the BOSS series.

PS: I forgot to ask if Billy Daniels is still the owner/promoter?

Remember that night well and they fixed two of the three problems before the cars pulled out. The Grader outside one, they could not move.

I seen several Sprintcar races there including a CRA Frankie Kerr won. Winged I used to watch Robbie Stanley go top shelf in the fluff and run till his groove came in.
They Just ran TQ's last Saturday.

Bill Wagner, Former racer is running it.

First off I'd just like to confirm that it IS official and I am working on an official press release, but obviously the word is out.

I raced at Whitewater in 2010 and this past Friday night was my first time back since then. Dan Wagner has done a lot to the place! Very well lit and very well prepared surface.

As for safety issues, the 3 items from that night long ago have all been corrected. As far as no catch fence in turns 1-2, as a driver myself, it's okay as long as the landing outside the facility is not dangerous. In this case, it would be a grassy tumble and the one lone obstruction is being taken care of. The grader was moved years ago.

The bottom line is that I will never put my drivers on a track that I would not race on myself. We have also already worked a deal with the Lawrenceburg Safety team to come in and work the event.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Whitewater and some BOSS representatives may be seen there on some random Friday nights to advertise for the show!!

Thanks for the reply Aaron. My only concern with the lack of a catch fence in 1 & 2 was that they were parking cars right by the wall when I was there. If a race car would have gone over the wall it would have landed on spectators vehicles.

I have already added that date to my racing calendar. I really enjoy watching the BOSS series run. Looking forward to more in the future. Keep up the good work.

I understand your concern and thank you for bringing up the parked cars. No vehicles were parked there Friday night. However, we hope to double Mr Wagner's crowd, so I will work with him to make sure parking doesn't become an issue in that area.
