Don't know how many of you have heard but Saturday night at Mountpelier Speedway the midget showdown was one of those races that if you saw it you would still be excited by it.Tate Martz jumped out front at the green flag in Greg Steeles #2 with Nick Lucas in hot pursuit. The track was in really good shape for the weather we have been having and Tate and Nick were slugging it out running the bottom of the track. Lyndsey Liquori in her and Joes 6rr was running third about a car length back. With laps running down there was a caution with 5 to go. On the restart Tate and Nick again dove low in turn one but this time Lyndsey blasts up onto the top of the track. The next time bye she pulls even with Nick and pulls him out of the second corner just screaming down the backstretch way up in no mans land. She then with one to go catches Tate going into one and pulls even leading him by inches coming out of two but Tate fights back charging into three with Lyndsey on the cushion Tate blasting up off the bottom they were only inches apart coming to the line but Lyndsey took the win by inches. It was a beautiful thing to see all three ran great races and the fans were all standing and yelling as the finish unfolded. If you haven't visited Mountpelier you have got to come see the fantatsic job Harold and his guys do there. It is like the racetracks when racing was a loved sport where the fans, the drivers, the cars and my favorite(since I am one) the owners get a fair payout and get to watch some great races. To make it short it's a track where when you run there you feel like the promoter respects your race team.

As I mentioned in another post, RacinBabe and I were so glad to be there. Great midget racing and the outcome of the feature for us was great no matter who won. Montpelier is a great track for both the midgets and the modifieds. Always a good show. I am not a big fan of some of the other series but we stayed and watched some other features as well since the hour was young.

How about the guy pulling the dwarf car up turn 1 & loosing it 3 quarters of the way up !!! That could have been disastrous. That was a bad ass show.
