When would be a good time to put together a Non Wing Illinois Sprint Week? How much would each night need to pay? $2000 to win $200 to start? Give us your imput.
All of us at Lincoln Speedway would like to thank the drivers for coming last Saturday & putting on a great race. Hope we can get a Sprint Week together. We might still try to put 1 more show on this year also. |

If you can start up an Illinois speedweek, please try to convince whoever owns Red Hill raceway in Sumner to get on board and reopen it. It is such a waste to have that track sitting idle.

:thumbWhat a great idea. I am curious as to what tracks besides Lincoln and Jacksonville you may be able to run?(Spoon River, Fairbury,Vermillion County,Granite city???????) Any ideas?
As far as purse goes obviously the more the better but I think you would have a good starting point at at least $1500 to win $200 to start. What does everyone else think. Right now I am excited about the possiblities of non-wing sprints growing here in Central Illinois. Can you give us a possible date of when you may be thinking of running another sprint show this year.??? |

I love the idea!!! Those of us that live further north would certainly enjoy tracks like LaSalle and Rt. 66.......

I have a hunch that live4racing has influence with the operators of the Farmer City track. :O:
There are tracks available for an Illinois Sprint Week, but can the Hammers and the Wests find willing promoters for some of the other venues ? |

Would love to see a Illinois Sprint Week. I think Farmer City would be a great track to have on the schedule.

Won't the challenge be getting some tracks to take the middle of the week dates?
I'm all for it and think it's a great idea... Jacksonville Granite City Farmer City Lincoln Mt. Vernon I wonder when the last time Belleville had sprints? |

What an awesome idea who's time may have come!!! :thumb
I think that $2000 to win $200 to start would bring in 25+ cars every night. As RACEADDICT suggests, you would probably do just as well paying $1500 to win, $200 to start. I would also suggest paying something ($75 - $100) in tow money for people who don't make the A-Main; it will still end up costing them a lot of money to tow all around the state. Tack suggestions include: Jacksonville Lincoln Spoon River La Salle or Route 66 Mt. Vernon Quincy Farmer City or Vermilion County That's a race track in every part of the state, with several in the middle. Some of these tracks would be better candidates for the during-the-week races. Jacksonville has a race scheduled for this Thursday, suggesting they can get a variance to run on a different night. Don't know if this is possible at Farmer City, but would be a better candidate for this, because non-wing sprints are more of a regular part of Morgan County's show. Spoon River, La Salle, and Rt 66 are all pretty much in the middle of nowhere. We all know how late the shows run at Spoon... I have no idea about Quincy, but I'm pretty sure there is a track there. |
