Garrett Hansen won the feature at Perris last night. I'm out here on vacation and it was my first trip to the speedway, and I really liked it. Some observations: The cars are a lot more quiet than at home. They must run some serious mufflers. The lights at Perris are top notch, as is the sound system. If there wasn't green flag racing, they were playing some music, it really kept it upbeat. There were only two classes, which kept it moving along well. The track was in good condition. The low line didn't start holding till the feature, but the cushion was good all night. I didn't get there early, but my guess is that they start with complete mud. It is all over the ground, stands, walls, everything. That is what works in the desert, I suppose. The racing was good. Danny Sheridan tangled with Hansen going for second place and took a nasty ride into the turn one fence. Everyone was OK. Good racing at a real nice track. Anyone in southern Cal should check it out.
