Lincoln, NE. (July 10, 2008)
- Speedway Motors is giving sprint car and midget drivers the opportunity to win more than $20,000 in prizes and awards during the action-packed Speedway Motors.com Open Wheel Week July 27-Aug.3.

The week kicks off with four nights of racing in Nebraska. The Kornhusker Midget Klassic series will take place July 27 at Eagle Raceway and July 28 at the Butler County Motorplex in Rising City, followed by the Cornhusker Midget Challenge July 29-30 at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction. The midgets roar to a finale at the Speedway Motors Belleville Midget Nationals in Belleville, Kansas, Aug. 1-2.

Racers who attempt to qualify for all four Nebraska races will be entered in a prize drawing to win race parts and gift certificates redeemable for products from some of the industry’s top manufacturers. Those who try to qualify for both nights of the Speedway Motors Belleville Midget Nationals will get a second entry into the drawing, while those who make five of the week’s six races will earn yet another entry.

Sprint car action begins July 31, when the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions kicks off its Thunder Through the Plains series at the Belleville High Banks. From there, the 410 sprints head on to Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kansas, Eagle Raceway, and South Dakota’s Huset’s Speedway. Racers who take time trials three of the four nights will be entered into the prize drawing; they get an extra entry if they run all four nights.

In addition to the drawings, all drivers will be eligible to win the Speedway Motors Racing Optics Hard Charger Award, given each night to the racer who advances the most places in the A Feature. Winners will receive certificates for five sleeves of Racing Optics tearoffs.

All racers competing for Speedway Motors.com Open Wheel Week prizes must fill out a registration card and run a Speedway Motors decal on each side of their cars. Speedway Motors representatives will be in the Eagle Raceway pits on July 27 and the Belleville High Banks pits on July 31 to distribute decals and registration cards.
