Due to the 'Burg rainout, Pete and I took our first trip to Waynesfield and we're glad we did.
This is a neat little country track,1/3 they say, $12. admission [$10 seniors] and $2. hot dogs. Sorry, Marv no trackburgers. Tonite featured 40 BOSS sprinters, emods, trucks and mini sprints. All races were competitive and the track good all night. Sprints done at 10 PM. ![]()

I also made my 1st. trip there from Kokomo!! I was impressed with how quickly you had each race in the chute & ready to roll!! Other tracks could learn from you on this! Well done!
I too thought the racing was good in all classes. Never seen truck races before ...pretty good action. I'll be back again even with the 2-1/2 hour drive! |

Rich and Dave, thanks for trying Waynesfield. Saw a vehicle with Illinois plates too. I make the drive up from Dayton as often as I can. I love the place....always great racing. Bet Rod Hennning is sore, that was a bad one. Enjoyed watching Mike Miller. Congrats to Dallas Hewitt and Ray Marshall, and the other division champs. Can't wait until the end of Sept show!

Thanks everyone. It's really refreshing to hear compliments such as these. Our staff is very hard workers and they really enjoy racing. Yes we are not a flashy track with video boards and lots of concrete walkways but I promise you that our driver put on some of the best racing in the country. I am proud out our staff and drivers. WRP is my home and what we lack in financial facad we replace with heart. Again, thank you for coming and hope to see you in the future. We do have a very nice race scheduled for Sunday September 29th with racing to start at 5pm. It includes 360 winged sprinters, 410 non wing sprinters and 1000cc mini sprinters. The show is called "The Harvest Of Sprints". With USAC at the Burg the night before we can possibly draw a few USAC guys but I'm telling you the drivers we currently have are awesome.

Is there going to be a raised purse for the sprints, or will it pay like a regular show?

Went to WRP for the second time this year Sat night, brought a buddy who has only been to maybe 1 or 2 sprint car races before, also brought my two boys age 16 & 13, we had a blast! I was rather impressed with how the program was hustled through. I never stay once the sprint main has been run, but my buddy wanted to see the modifieds run, I must admit all the classes produced great racing. The track prep was excellent as well. Keep up the good work WRP!

Last couple of years we used to say it was the best kept secret. Well I guess the secret is out.
