July 4th Gas City or Bloomington

I'm thinking about making a road trip Friday and looking for a little advice. I've never been to either track before(well Gas City once but it got rained out). If you guys had a choice which track would you go to and why? I also enjoy watching most other divisions so if you think the other divisions factor in that's fine too. Distancewise Bloomington is a little farther so I'm leaning towards going there since I would have all day to get there. Let me know you're opinions. Thanks.

It really makes no difference. Both are well run and offer basically the same show. Sprints, modifieds, street stocks, etc. Both get good fields of sprints and offer exciting racing. We are blessed here in Indiana to have such a great choice on Friday nights.

As said, both tracks have good programs and are run on time. Good car count in all divisions. Gas City will refund your money on rain outs if the feature field is not set. I think at Bloomington, you have to use your rain check on another regular show. You would enjoy either track.

As said by others, each track offers quality racing on Friday nights. I doubt it would make a difference, but Bloomington has a fireworks show as well this Friday while Gas City doesn't.

Plus, could see some drivers there who want to get practice time in before Sprint Week.

Gas City grandstands are terrible, if you are the size of a five yr old kid you might be confortable in the stands. You are sitting with your knees in your face and you feet is on persons seat sitting in front of you. The stands were build for migets.
Bloomington you can take you lawn chair and have a spot up close to the track or sit farther back on the bank. Great track to watch a race. Terre Haute open grandstands are nice & not as much room under the roof. For all race fans Gas City should burn down the grandstands & rebulid. Of course the local fans will disagree with me, maybe they enjoy have leg cramps after the races. Not me |

Both tracks have a lot to offer, Jiggs standing at the gate in the poring rain trading tickets for your hard earned cash makes up for any inconvenience in my opinion. Of course we are regulars so we are a little one sided. Nothing bad to say about Bloomington as they put on a great show also. Are you going to hang around for Sunday at Kokomo?
