Looking for more information on a midget I'm restoring. The car was the #43 owned by Paul Leffler in the early 80's. I know that Doug Wright drove it and i believe Jack Hewitt might have drove it at Eldora in 86'. Trying to find who built the frame, don't know if Leffler built many midgets? Any info helps.
Thanks,
Cody

It looks like it might have came from the Sherman Armstrong, stable of race cars.

That's what i was thinking, talked to Doug Wright, but he wasn't sure either? Was looking at pictures of the Armstrong cars but the cage is different, on this car the cage has been cut before and was also converted from torsion to coil front.

The #42 and #43 cars that Sherwin and Sherman Armstrong Jr. drove were Vogler Crafts built by Don Vogler. If I remember correctly Paul had a midget when he was running the tire store in Winchester, IN.

If you can get hold of Greg Steele, in Shelbyville, he worked for Paul for years, he would know. It also has the looks of a Lowe, or maybe a Klein. TQ97 would be a contact there also. Bob

Thanks for the replys. I'll try to look into that. Not a whole lot of cars had that one piece roll cage brace/ gusset that I have seen.

Found out that it was the Streicher #28 car. Built by Mike Saligoe in 1978. Sold to the Cicconis (#57) and then to Paul Leffler (#43) who changed it to coil front.
