I haven't seen anything here about Sleepy Tripp's condition after his motorcycle accident. Ron Lauer has been keeping us Easterners up to date. Here's the 3 messages he's forwarded from Erin this week.

Evening all - 3 weeks in this hospital!
We have had a few great days since my last post... but arrived yesterday morning to find hubby scootered on one side of the bed, one leg hanging out of the bed, all his plugs pulled out, as if he was ready to make a run for it... I came in and said: 'and where do you think your going, and flicked his leg back in' to which I got the biggest sh*t-eating grin from him! Then I seeked out his nurse. Told him if he had tried to get out he would have dropped 2-3 feet and probably re-injured himself - do you really want to be in this hospital longer - to which he rolled his eyes at me - like - yeah right! Later he was tested to see if he was able to consume soft foods and liquids... He passed the test and we were told that they will be capping his trach tomorrow (today) and he would be able to talk and eat again...

Roll on today... And I'm so happy to let you all know that hubby has been move from ICU to a re
covery room in the PCU!!! His Trach is capped and he is now able to eat soft foods, drink through a straw and talking!!! Although it is rather gibberish - its very funny all the same He is keeps saying - I'm over it... Let's go... and... See you! It's pretty entertaining. oh also he said, I've been pretty patient for 4 days, just watching TV... 4 days... how about 3 weeks!!! So after such a roller coaster few weeks - I think we will be heading back to the O.C. in the next day or two... and will keep you up on that venture!
AGAIN... I cant say it enough, but thanks for all your love, prayers, well wishes, thoughts, calls etc... he just had to get better... As Joanna Lendich Jonkers said: he's a legend... Well for all he has endured here... if he wasn't before, he certainly is now!!! Thanks everyone - we felt the love!!!

Midweek Update: after such a promising last post to you all... sorry to tell you that we are back in ICU... and without going over all the details, he has had two quiet days settling him down and now talk of putting in a defibulattor on Fri. Hoping that, that will be the solution to his PVC's/heart problems!
