USAC does not have a problem with POWRi, Kenny Brown is the reason that POWRi was not at the Gold Crown!

There is a difference of opinion between Kenny and I about the way he does business, this has nothing to do with the people from USAC.

Both organizations or good for the sport, it's ashame that Kenny doesn't feel the same way & work together to help make Midget Racing better for everyone.

We are currently working on having several midget shows in 2013 @ Tri-City Speedway the dates will be released shortly.

Just hope that Kenny does not schedule on top of these dates like he did this year!

The 5th Annual Gold Crown Midget Nationals will be held on Oct. 3rd, 4th & 5th 2013.

Thank You & See You At The Races!

Better yet, hope Mr. Brown don't decide to come further east of the Mississippi to put on some races. It is the National Poweri Midget series isn't it?

I think your statement is a contradiction. I think many people would like to see POWRi schedule more races east of the Mississippi, especially in Indiana and Ohio.

Scheduling races, regardless of type, is a complicated process involving a lot of factors. There are going to be conflicts in the midget schedules, IOWheelers. Get used to it. I'm going to say it again... get the costs down (engines) and you won't be discussing this on this site. Despite the 70 midgets in the St. Louis area that showed up last weekend, the scramble for midget race car counts is not going to go away until more people can afford to run one. It's real simple. Kenny Brown (POWRi) is a for profit business just like Tri-City Speedway. He is going to do what is best for his deal. That's the bottom line and with the success he has had, I would say he's on the right track in promoting midget racing.

Kevin,
Wait til after the Chili Bowl when Kenny puts his schedule out and then put out yours. Or schedule them when the POWRi West has a West only weekend. Then you will be able to get the cars.

Its good to know Im not the only one that realized Kenny added a date for the midgets at Du Quoin to step on your non sanctioned midget race.

I think some non sanctioned races will help a more budget, minded weekly racer in the STL area.

Dont get me wrong I think what Kenny is doing with Angell Park & Illinois Midget week is great. POWRi has done great things for midget racing. However, when you have a track willing to put on some non sanction shows around your schedule I feel like that could only help midget racing in the area. Plus, Tri-City is an amazing midget track!

Thanks for the candid response Kevin. I understand that in business, hell life in general, people are not always gonna get along. But I think most every race fan on this board and throughout the midwest would sure like to see you and Kenny sit down and iron out your differences. You have a fabulous facility and many, many people enjoy the Midget and Sprint shows you hold there.
Here's to hoping you and the folks with USAC and POWRi can patch things up for the sport we all follow.
Thanks for listening.

IMO, one for profit organization calling out another for profit organization and making overtures to shut down their business on a public message board and airing dirty laundry is inappropriate and unprofessional.

There are always two sides to every story, and alot of times three or four.

For those about to rock, we salute you.

What non-sanctioned Midget race? The only Midget show I heard of this season was the Gold Crown, which I attended both nights.
If you're talking the Midgets at DuQuoin on August 31 against the USAC Sprints at Tri-City, that's apples an oranges ain't it?
I'm thinkin' we don't need to add to the controversy here

I attended all four POWRi shows in the KC area last year. Two at Valley Speedway, One at Lucas Oil, and one at US36. However, if POWRi schedules against the Gold Crown again next year, I will not attend any of these races.

I will vote with my wallet, and I will let the promoters of each track know why I did so.
