Plymouth Speedway Sept 1

The newly widened Bull Ring at Plymouth Speedway is very proud to host the 1st ever Earl Gaerte Classic this Saturday Sept. 1.

410 MOWA Winged Sprints - $3000 to win!
600 Winged minisprints - $500 to win!

Come join us to celebrate with Joe Gaerte and family the racing life of Earl Gaerte!

We are welcoming the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) 410 winged sprints to the fast Bull Ring with newly widened front stretch (added another 15' of racing surface from last event). All 410 sprints welcome however with Hoosier SC15 or SC25 RR tire. No registration fee!

In addition, the 600 winged minisprints will be battling it out. Come see if Sara Elrod can defend her win from last time against 40+ other drivers.

Grandstands adults $15, kids 6-12 $5 Gates open 4pm
Pits $30 Gates open 3pm
HOT LAPS 6pm
RACING 7pm

Contingency prizes are also up for grabs along with the $3000 to win. Maxim Chassis; Springfield, IL has announced that they will award the winner of the Trophy Dash a front axle. Thank you goes out to them for this award along with Schoenfeld Headers for a product certificate of $270 for another lucky racer that evening. There will be additional items handed out and announced as they are received.

how many cars start the sprint feature ? i saw the 360 race only started 16

I am editting this from earlier.

We are scheduled to start 18 winged sprints unless it is changed by officials during day of event.

Heard from Joe Gearte that he has over $6000 worth of contingency for his fathers race. Should be a good one!! Saw that the made the front 25' wider. Also Mr Kennedy is making an announcement about Asphalt VS Dirt. We all know we want it dirt!!!!

The Marshall County Blueberry fest. is going on this weekend in Plymouth and I know last year there was over 400,000 people that attended it. Gearte is putting his car on display there and should have a great crowd. Weather is looking good for Saturday.

To add to the excitement - Wanted to pass the word that since the last race there has been work going on at the track. It is official tonight; the track is ¼ mile track. This should make some GREAT racing for Saturday!!!!

Saw Joe Gearte himself measuring the track. Should be an awesome race. The Sod race with Smoke there was great. Now i see why they are talking about making it a dirt track..

We are inviting all 410 sprints to join us at the Bull Ring this Saturday! MOWA has a great field of drivers and it will be fun to see them mixing it up with some Indiana, Michigan, or even Ohio drivers. Can't wait . . .

Hope Ed Kennedy's announcement is to go all dirt for 2013. The 1 1/2 hour trip to see a dirt show is long, when i am 45 min from Plymouth. Use to go to Warsaw all the time. I hope they run sprints weekly or bi weekly along with UMP Mods. Any body hear if they are keeping the little track for the 600's? They put on an awesome show their.
