AMSA - Grassroots Racing Revival

A.M.S.A. second night of the Grassroots Racing Revival was held on May 31st at the Twin Cities Raceway Park. 21 cars signed in.

Heat 1
10 cars to start. The green light came on and there was a mad dash for 1st place. Car #37W, driven by Boyd Wolff, spun in turn 3 bringing out the yellow flag, but he was able to continue the race. Again the yellow flag came out for car #26, driven by Howard McCormick, he had to be pulled into the infield. When the green flag came out, car 2, driven by Austin Archdale, took the lead with car #9F, driven by Scott Fasse, close behind – but he was just unable to pass.
1st place - #2 Austin Archdale
2nd place – #8f Scott Fasse
3rd place - #67 Nathan Mensendick
Penalties to car #09 for jump starting on the restart & # 6J for touching the cone.

Heat 2
10 cars to start. In between turns 3 & 4 car #29, driven by Rusty Strausbaugh, car # 34W, driven by Luke Wolff and car #11X, driven by James Page, all three flipped their cars – drivers were okay. Cars # 29 & # 34W were able to finish the heat but car #11X was unable to continue. After the restart car #12, driven by Dustin Hueston, took the lead with car #44, driven by Jason Soudrette on his tail. Several spins and yellow flags – but no one could keep car #12 from taking the checkered flag.
1st place - #12 Dustin Hueston
2nd place – #44 Jason Soudrette
3rd place - #67 Drew Pollock

Feature
18 cars to start. The green light sent car #67, driven by Nathan Mensendick into the lead for several laps. Can #2, driven by Austin Archdale, passed the lead car to be out in front. Car #12, driven by Dustin Hueston was close behind. Car #09, driven by J.R. Douglas, spun out and the yellow flag was brought out, he was able to continue the race. Once again there was a green flag and a dash for 1st, but then again there was another yellow flag. Car #37W, driven by Boyd Wolff, had to be pushed to the infield. The green flag came out again and car #2, Austin Archdale, was in the lead with #12, Dustin Hueston, right on his tail. On the white flag lap, car #12, driven by Dustin Hueston, spun out giving the lead to car #67, driven by Nathan Mensendick, and he finished taking the checkered flag. This was Nathans 1st Feature win.

3rd place - #8F Scott Fasse
4th place - #2 Austin Archdale
5th place - #67 Drew Pollock

The goal for the season for the A.M.S.A. is to have as many different feature winners as possible. We are on schedule with 3 races in and 2 different feature winners this far.
