as of the next race of the SSLS BAZZAZ Aftermaket fuel tuning systems with TC are ILLEGAL on your race car....after many phone calls and in depth research as the picture shows it is and can be a traction control device...the only TC device that is legal in the SSLS is your right foot period,,,and we are looking into the POWER COMMANDER 3 and 5...as of right now it is legal.

THIS POWER COMMANDER IS NOT LEGAL
Power Commander V w/ Built in Ignition Control
On select models, gain control over fuel delivery AND timing with the new Power Commander V with fuel and ignition control. The best of both worlds, now you can realize all the benefits of the Power Commander V and the Ignition Module 5 wrapped in a single enclosure. This Power Commander V is available for select twin cylinder engines.
Retains all of the standard Power Commander V fuel control features
Allows +/- 20 degrees of timing adjustment
Map Switch Input – change maps on the fly
Adjust timing per cylinder
Raise your Rev Limit (only available on select models)
Built In Launch Limiter

PaPa Outlaw don't get so hyper. This sounds like drag strip stuff to me. Some of this stuff works pretty good on asphalt but on dirt I would reccomend the old "CSHUMAN traction control" in a jar. By far the best stuff out there since the RSHUMAN has been removed from service. Dirt requires modulation of the gas pedal these electronic units have not figured out how to do that yet.

As another old dirt track driver from western Kentucky told me once: busterloose a little coming out of the turn then back peddel er back up all the way down the straight. "IT IS ALL IN THE BUTT"

This is going to be good.

Better look at what can be done to so called stock ECU before banning anything.

They come from the factory with that stuff already in them. Don't mess with modern "tek-nol-ogy". Just Out law everything new and go back to racing 1947 Crosleys motors only with Davis quick change rear ends and not Davis traction controls units you can carry in your pocket and nobody will ever see.

This is why the MMSA said any fuel injection is allowed..'how would you regulate a cdi box...?
Stock Bore and Stroke...period..
The new stock motors will violate rules... Eg.. 2009 and up r1s have driving modes.. Guess what that's ignition mapping. Is what it is.

On the 07-08 R1 the ECU controls the maximum throttle openning at various rpms... not the driver's right foot. This rule, while based on good intentions, seems arbitrary and capricious.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but having used it before, I wouldn't go buy it on purpose, even tho it does work, but not all that well on dirt, however, I don't see it as being the issue it has brought out on here, it isn't this big a deal, let em run it, don't run money away just because of something that is a big deal in Europe, in high dollar, big paying racing, let it alone! Bob!

AMEN: BRO. ROBERT

People race to find that special "edge" over the other guy. Some people do it with money some do it with brains. Watch out for the guy that uses both.

If we wanted cookie cutter race cars we can all go down to the corner GoKart track and race for a few bucks and have a pretty good time doing it. That is a whole bunch cheaper than a car, trailer, tow vehicle and spares. But we want to beat the other guy on our terms with our stuff. If you think a rule will make racing cheaper from my experience you are dead wrong, ain't gona happen.

We are pretty good about making safety rules (except fo that dumb ol nerf bar rule, I think a hold over from BEN HURR'S days) that make racing safer, but unless you require every body to buy the same car and engine combo ala (600 racing legand cars) they even want every one to buy from the same supplier, sounds like Communism to me not my kinda of racing.

The best rule we have come up with in the last 20 years is a reasonable weight rule. That does level the playing field.

DAD'S GOLDEN RULE "KISS" Thank you Bill May !
