Today's Video of the Day comes to us from the old Indianapolis Indians' baseball diamond known as Bush Stadium. It was converted from a baseball field into the 16th Street Speedway in 1997. This particular race is a USAC National Midget Series feature from the inaugural year of the racetrack on September 13, 1997.
You'll get a kick out of this one, so enjoy!! |

I really miss the old joint. I happened to drive by there about a month ago. Sorry to say that it looks in very poor shape. Sorry to see that era end for sure.

The last I heard was they were going to build apartments where the seating area was with the apartment windows facing where the field/track was. They will leave the facade around the stadium up, though. Such a shame, I wish it could have somehow been salvaged for the future, but I guess we'll have to move on with just our memories of the place.

Man I loved that place. That race may be the record for the least yellows they ever had for a feature there
