Thank you for this site. Of course this week would have been Chuck Amati's Birthday Nov. 16) and he passed away Nov. 18, 2008. Everyday I miss him. I miss his smile, his voice. His life on the track was so great. He loved racing and it loved him. We cannot even begin to know how many races he ran in his career. So many track championships, track records and honors. Nothing meant as much to him as his fans did. He loved them and he was always amazed when we were out of state and someone knew him. He was an amazing man off the track too. He would give you the shirt off his back. His smile would light up the State of Illinois. He did so much for Sprint Car racing and of course was the "Original Outlaw". I never regret a mile we traveled together, a day or night we spent together, or a phone call in the early am or the late night pm, we were friends for life. I thank God everyday that he was apart of my life. My life is not the same without Chuck Amati. I miss you so much.
