USAC Sponsors Robbie Stanley Memorial Race

May 10th and May 11th, the Central Indiana Quarter Midget Association (CIQMA) will be holding its annual Region 4 Championship Series event at Mini Indy Speedway.

It is a two-day event showcasing young racing talent from all over the country.

The highlight of the event is Sunday’s Robbie Stanley Memorial Heavy AA Race. The race pays tribute to Robbie Stanley, who swept three consecutive USAC National Sprint Car Championships in 1991, 1992 and 1993 before his career ended in a 1994 accident at Winchester, Indiana.

We are proud to announce that the United States Auto Club (USAC) will be the trophy sponsor for the Robbie Stanley Memorial. :checkered: “Robbie is one of our most revered champions and we are indeed proud that CIQMA continues to honor his legacy,” says USAC President/CEO Kevin Miller. “This race has produced some great champions who have graduated to USAC’s ranks and we look forward to welcoming this year’s champion as their career matures.”

Practice and qualifying begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday, May 11th, with races following immediately after qualifying. Racing will go into the night and will resume again on Sunday at 10:30 AM. We anticipate a large turn-out for this event. Last year the event drew close to 270 cars.

Quarter midget racing is a competitive motor sports organization for children ages 5 – 16. The racing has been around since the 30’s and many former, current, and future stars have gotten their start in quarter midgets.

The racing environment is about children and family with drivers developing many positive skills that stay with them throughout life and their racing careers.

Mini Indy speedway is located on the grounds of the Indiana State Fair. For more information go to www.miniindyspeedway.org.

The Regional Event is Race #2 of the Region 4 Championship Series. The series covers 9 different quarter midget tracks in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. For more information go to www.r4qma.com.
