I am curious, isnt it an MSCS rule that once you leave the track that you are done for that race. Bill Rose repaired his car during the red in his pit then came back for an 8th place finish. A few years back at Haubstadt Stanborugh pulled off to change a tire while the cars were still lining up and they wouldnt let him start and the reason given was that he left the track and that was the MSCS rule. Can anyone shed any light on the apparent rule discrepancy?

I'm guessing they have a designated work area or hotpit rule and if you don't work in that area you're done for the race.

Stanbrough changed the tire in the pushoff area at Haubstadt. Rose was in his own pit area Sunday

The MSCS rules on their site say you can only come back on the track during the A main...possibly if the case was that if the incident happened while lining up for the A and they ruled that you can't leave and return until the A actually starts.

I believe the Stanbrough incident led to the rule change...
