I'm trying to workout a trip to Indiana for the Klash and the Winchester 400 weekend. I'll likely not be able to get to the track until after 9:00PM on Friday. My first question is how much of the program would I miss and what typically runs on Friday? Second is Saturday part run in the day or night? Also it's been a real long time since I've been to Winchester. About how far of a drive is it from the Kokomo area to the track.

Thanks!

It usually runs a little long on the Klash so you would probably miss the heats. Friday is open wheel nite so sprints, midgets, TQ's and thundercars I think. The track is in town. Saturday show is at night. Distance/time from kokomo to Winchester can be found on mapquest

Expect a very big crowd for the 400 on Sunday and parking is tough because the lot will be practically full of people camping at the track all weekend. Last year they were encouraging car pooling as much as possible for Sunday.

Friday night Oct 14th we will be running the Non Wing Sprint Cars, Midgets, 600 Mini Sprints, Thunder Cars and Tq Midgets. Depending on car counts for each class, accidents will play a role in to how much you will miss. last year the program was done around mdnight on both nights with car count I beleive near 150 fri night and 175 sat night. sat night program is Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks, I-mods. For more info you can visit www.kokomospeedway.net
According to google maps its is 82.5 miles or 1hr 44min with traffic. So not sure when your leaving. hope this helps

David,

Since you probably are not familiar with the back roads, I would plan on it taking 1 1/2 hours from Kokomo to Winchester. I would plan on getting to Winchester early on Sunday if you plan on parking nearby. As arctic monkey said, last years race was full. The track has talked about increasing parking, but I wouldn't count on it.

I-Mod stands for Independent Modifieds and the race at Kankakee County Speedway and Shadyhill Speedway. Here is the division website at: www.imods4u.com ... Click on enter and then click on photos so you can see what an I-Mod looks like. Basically a Modified with a street stock engine and laxan glass wing on the left and right rears of the car. The competivness is about the same as a full field of street stocks an most of the time they put on a good clean show.

The Klash is usually a pretty good show both nights...
