CJ LEARY WINS AT TWIN CITIES RACEWAY PARK
Greenfield’s CJ Leary, driving the Sanders Motorsports Dynamic Wings & Subs/INOX/Smith Valley Farms Beast Kawasaki won his second feature of the year on Saturday evening August 20th when the Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Vincennes University competed at the Twin Cities Raceway Park in Vernon, Ind.
Leary, the 2010 Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Year, jumped from his second row starting position into the lead at the start of the twenty lap feature. Leary led the first sixteen circuits before Jason Willis made the pass and took the lead. Leary then regrouped, and on the twentieth and final lap, passed Willis to record his fifth career MTQRL feature win.
Finishing behind Leary and Willis were Ronnie Combs, Rick Robinson and Chris Mann. Caleb Faulkner, Jon Steed, Logan Arnold, Becky Brown and Chad Rouse rounded out the top ten.
Leary and Willis won the heat races and the Pace Performance Coating Hard Charger Award went to Chad Rouse who passed five cars in the feature. The Duane & Sonja Alexander Hard Luck Driver Award went to Rob Walton after mechanical problems kept him from starting the feature. Cody Kiewitt won the drawing for the $50 Jackson Oil & Solvents gift certificate.
The next race on the MTQRL schedule will be Saturday August 27th at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbyville, Ind. with racing set to begin at 7:00 pm.
