Terry Goff Wins at Anderson

Terry Goff took the win on Saturday night in the 25-lap UMRA feature at Anderson Speedway. The win was Terry’s second of 2011 and 120th of his UMRA career. A lap three spin by leader Kevin Blue set off a crash that involved seven cars and eliminated six of them from competition. This gave the lead to polesitter Johnny Goff who was able to hold off his Uncle Terry until the 15-time series champion was able to make the winning pass with less than five laps to go. Johnny would hold onto second with Brandon Gray finishing third, Jason Burke fourth and CJ Leary rounding out the top five.
Quick time was CJ Leary at 12.883 seconds, the ten-lap heat races were won by CJ Leary and Jason Goff. The $50 from the Tony Stewart “Smoke The Field” Challenge went to Terry Goff who came from eighth to first. As a result of his lap three spin while leading, Kevin Blue took the $50 for the Green-Tech Lubricants “Hard Luck” Award.
The next race for the UMRA is Saturday August 27 at Mount Lawn Speedway.
