This year will mark the 50th running of the Tony Bettenhausen 100 at the Springfield mile on August 20th and also the running of the 2011 Ted Horn 100 at the Magic Mile in Duquoin, Illinois on September 4th. We are looking to field as many vintage racecars as possible for on track and display time. We are also looking to get together one of the best collections of past dirt USAC Silver Crown/Champ cars for this memorial race. It's time to load up your racecar and bring it to the track and make some laps and make some memories! Any make or model of racecar will be accepted and we're looking to have a great turnout. No matter what the distance of the drive both races are worth the drive! Let's make Silver Crown racing the big deal it used to be! For more information please call Dave at (217)201-3000 or e-mail Greg at GregHar23@yahoo.com. Thanks and hope to see you all there!! - Hardy Boys Motorsports

We will be there in the grandstands just as we have for the last 25 years, or more. Here's to hoping that the weather cooperates far better than it did in 2010.

The vintage race cars are a great and appropriate addition to the days racing activities every year at Springfield but especially so on this milestone year.

A very close friend of our family is 88 years young and has seen every Championship Dirt Car and Silver Crown race run during the State Fair at the Springfield Mile since racing resumed following WWII in 1947. This year figures to be the 65th race our friend will have seen at The Mile. He really enjoys the vintage cars and we wish to thank all the folks who put forth the effort to find, restore and put on display these beautiful rolling museum pieces for our entertainment.

Here's to having an infield overflowing with vintage racing machines with warm sunshine and no rain in sight at Springfield this year.

Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.
